He’s turned up again.

After a long absence, Andrew Coyne has returned to the blogosphere (as an aside: is anyone else married to someone who laughs her head off whenever he uses the word “blogosphere”?). It is a true pleasure to read his blog again, especially because his last few Post columns have been especially worthy.

Today’s latest post is a brilliant evisceration of that mosquito of Liberalism, Warren “hey! look at me!” Kinsella.

Mr. Kinsella is exercised over Coyne’s reference to him in today’s Post column, and once again plays his one note tune: I’ll sue! I’ll sue! So Coyne gently and politely takes Kinsella’s head and shoves it so far up Warren’s own posterior that if he ever wants to get out again he’d better start chewing fast.

It’s unfortunately too rare to see this kind of exchange: service, then return, then a smashing overhead kill shot. I am particularly thrilled that this boot-to-the-head is given to one who so richly deserves it. A few months ago Warren was involved in a butting of heads with a few Canuck conservative and libertarian bloggers, some of whom made him out to be a sort of Canadian internet Darth Vader. Nothing could be further from the truth. He’s a half-forgotten hatchet man for a corrupt administration, whose signature take-downs (of Stockwell Day and Kim Campbell) are noteworthy only for the ridiculous stupidity of his targets. But he has clearly deluded himself into thinking he’s got some sort of “record” to defend, and also that he’s capable of opening up a can of whoop-ass on anybody. The truth is a little more prosaic: he’s a bore, and it’s only the irritation of a lawsuit that keeps anybody from wasting their time on this flea (with due apologies to the Flea…). Speaking for myself, I have limited time to spend on reading blogs–and I have just not been able to find the time to read Warren’s for months. Funny how this has made my internet time so much more enjoyable!
